It is designated as an International Biosphere Reserve for its ecological importance. You may just have an encounter with a Florida panther, American crocodile, the rare Ghost orchid, manatees, and much more. Be sure to check out the Anhinga Trail and Shark Valley tram.

I absolutely love this refuge. My wife and I have been here several times and each time we visit we see something different. You may see herons and egrets on impediments and the large boardwalk is ideal for selfies and just relaxing and enjoying Florida. As you walk across the wooden boardwalk you may also encounter an alligator or two sunbathing or cruising in the shallows. Bird watchers come here to catch a glimpse of the declining population of the smooth-billed ani and snail kites.

Located in Titusville where you can also visit the Kennedy Space Center. Every January, the  area hosts the Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival, which is the largest of it's kind in the country. Migrating waterfowl attract bird watchers in droves along Black Point Wildlife Drive, a 7-mile loop around salt marsh impoundments.
