Streets Division

The Streets Division is responsible for ongoing maintenance of the roads, medians, and the corresponding rights-of-way including sidewalk repair, mowing, landscaping, litter, street signage, and traffic signals.

Cleaining the Streets

551 Miles of Public Streets

  • Streets and Sidewalks: Palm Coast currently has approximately 551 miles of public streets and 98 Miles of Sidewalk and Paths that is all maintained by our streets division. Although the annual resurfacing projects are handled by the City’s Construction management and Engineering Department, our streets department handles potholes and small asphalt repairs from day to day wear.

  • Mowing: Our mowing division mows undeveloped portions of public right-of ways to include swales of vacant lots, vacant portions of Parkways and Boulevards, City owned vacant parcels, as well as some portions US1 and State Road 100. This division also addresses sight distance issues and hazardous tree removal on City Property.

  • Hazardous Tree and Fire Mitigation: Hazardous tree removal and under brushing for fire mitigation is done on all City owned vacant lots, easements, and right of ways.

Street Pavement

93 Decorative Medians

  • Decorative Medians: The city has 93 decorative medians that consist of 367 acres of grass, 40 acres of ornamentals, thousands of trees and 356 Irrigation Zones. All these areas are maintained in house.

  • Sign Shop: Our sign division currently maintains a inventory of over 11,000 directional, traffic control, and street name signs Citywide. Our staff have the equipment and know how to produce, install and maintain all signs Citywide.

  • Signal Shop: Our Signal division maintains 58 Traffic signals Citywide. Signal maintance is done twice annually to ensure the signals are safe and functioning properly. Our staff is trained to maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all 58 signals. On-call staff are prepared to respond 24/7 should there be a traffic signal problem.
